Jon has released three new singles recently. The first is called "Whenever I Hear Sweet Hour of Prayer." This is an arrangement of "I Know My Heavenly Father Loves Me" and "Sweet Hour of Prayer." The sheet music is not currently available, but will be soon!

In Jon's words: "This song was actually written to perform in Sacrament Meeting in October of 2022. I always like to tie the season and time of year into any music that I create. In October, Halloween is the theme of the month. But how do you bring "spooky" into Sacrament Meeting?! That was my challenge. I think I figured it out with this one. This song is hauntingly beautiful, and it is very fun to play and follow the chord progressions. I think they come through quite nicely here. This song is not for big and fast, but for soft, quick, and reverent. I write each of these songs with the primary purpose of bringing the Spirit more fully into the lives of those listening to the music."

The second is called "Peace Through Christ." This is an arrangement of "Where Can I Turn for Peace?" and "I Believe In Christ." This album was published with three tracks--one fully orchestrated, one as a solo piano rendition, and the final one as a play along version that is all of the instruments except for the piano. This sheet music is not currently available, but also will be soon!

In Jon's words: "This song was written as a request for a song to play in Sacrament Meeting. The request was actually to play a piano arrangement of the EFY song 'Peace in Christ,' but I thought about it and realized that most people probably wouldn't be moved by that arrangement unless they are very familiar with the song. I suggested that pulling these two songs together would be much more powerful. The song begins with a pretty melody and then moves into 'Where Can I Turn for Peace?,' moves into 'I Believe in Christ,' and then ends with a very calm, peaceful, and simple version of "Where Can I Turn for Peace?" so that the listener can just focus more on how they feel than on what I am playing. When I played it in church, the silence was almost deafening coming from the audience as I patiently played the final verse. This is one of the most powerful arrangements I've ever written and I hope it is played by many more people over the coming years to bring more peace into their lives and into those that listen. The answer to the question of "Where Can I Turn for Peace?" is powerfully answered in the title of a recent General Conference talk--'The Answer is Always Jesus.'"

In Jon's words,

"The third song was requested to be played in a stake conference general adult session. The fun thing about this one is that I was asked to do this two days before a significant left shoulder surgery. I was only going to be 5 days post-op on the day I was supposed to perform. I figured I'd write something slow and easy for the left hand since I was going to be in a sling. The surgery ended up being insanely painful, and I didn't even get to sit down to practice until the day before. When I first sat down, the pain was significant. I started slow and worked up to some strength. My arm was slightly numb in some places from nerve damage, but after about an hour, I felt like my arm could move a bit better. I didn't really figure out what I was going to do until the next day, a few hours before Stake Conference, and I probably got more compliments on this one than any I've ever done before. Enjoy!"
